Soul of the Sun Floor Gallery: Portfolio Description: Dimensions: Approximately 11’ 5” long x 7’ 5” wide
Medium: Vitreous glass tile, stained glass, millefiori, glass gems
Inspiration: Roman floors – I started with a traditional Greek key border and then filled the center with 2 sun emblemata and stylized flowers. A slice of blue sky emerges from the center. The background, to create texture, is “opus circumactum”. Petal was the color used for the opus circumactum because it was a warmer color whereas white would have been too stark.
