At Mid Century Mosaics we take a unique approach. Every piece is completely original and designed to your specifications.

Our original mosaics are perfect for your kitchen backsplash, feature walls (and floors), sun rooms and gardens. Each tesserae is hand cut and placed from a combination of vitreous glass, stained glass and fused glass using the same methods that have been employed since antiquity. You will enjoy a beautiful custom designed mosaic to enhance your environment.

If you live in the Bay Area of San Francisco we offer free on-site installation. Outside of the Bay Area we can create your mosaic on a panel or fiberglass mesh to ship directly to you for your tile contractor to install.

Mid Century Mosaics also offers smaller, pre-made mosaic items in our Etsy shop. Please see the sidebar feed at left for pictures, descriptions and purchase information. Please keep in mind when looking at smaller projects in our portfolio that motifs, such as koi fish, dragonfly and flowers, could be repeated on a much larger surface to make a stunning statement on a wall or floor.

Custom Designed Stained Glass Mosaic Light Switch Cover Inspired by Mondrian - red, blue, yellow, white.The mosaic light switch covers pictured in this custom listing were inspired by the classic elegance of Piet Mondrian's "Broadway Boogie Woogie".The light switch covers in the pictures are just an example of a past project and I do not currently have them in stock.I would love to create switch covers to match your interior!

Dimensions of each cover pictured are approximately 4.5 inches by 2.75 inches.If you need larger covers or different configurations please let me know.An individual cover of the size in the listing picture is $15 - larger sizes are $20 each.Please let me know how many covers you will need.For orders of more than 6 covers I give a 10% discount.

Herb garden kit with mosaic pot in blue & white tile.This kit includes one mosaic tile flower pot in blue and white tile, lemon basil herb seeds and enough soil to fill the flower pot. A little mosaic flower pot is perfect for growing your own herbs indoors in a sunny kitchen window or outside on your patio, deck or in your garden.Also makes a great gift!Please specify gift when you order and I will gift wrap and include a card.

I created this tiny jewel like pot with 3/8" vitreous glass tile. Pot is approximately 4" high x 4.5" wide at the top and taper at the base. The flower pots I create have approximately 300 pieces of glass tile.The inside of the pot is sealed with latex paint as a moisture barrier so that you can put soil and plants directly in the pot. The grout is sealed to prevent staining. Sun and rain will not damage mosaic pots but I do not recommend leaving it outside in the winter if you live in a cold climate.
